Stroke victors support information for London

This page is specifically for those living or traveling within the London area.

If you would like to make regular use of the Underground you may qualify for a disabled freedom pass. Also, if you do not yet have the confidence to take the huge step of going out for the first time you may use the transport for London's Travel Mentoring Service

Transport for London have launched a travel support card which will get you help while traveling.

Using the London Underground is becoming easier and easier as improvements are constantly being implemented. Watch the 'come onboard' video on the transport accessibility page.

On this page it says 'If you arrive at a Tube or Overground station and the lift is unavailable, staff will help you to plan an alternative journey to your destination. If there isn't a reasonable alternative route, we'll book you a taxi (at our cost) to take you to your destination or another step-free station from where you can continue your journey.' Scroll down until you will find the heading 'Level access at platforms' The statement is directly above this heading.
